FAQS
What you need to know
What do I need to do before I can start driving?
You need to be at least 17 years of age and, if you have not already done so, apply for a provisional licence from the DVLA. You can do this online or by getting an application form from the post office. It is also worth having an eyesight check, but in any event, ensure you can read a standard car number plate at 20.5 metres.
How often should I have my driving lessons?
Continuity of driving lessons is important and Left2Leon recommends that you have between 2 and 4 hours per week. You will also progress much quicker if you have two hour lessons each time.

What is the cheapest way of booking my driving lessons?
You should take advantage of our discounts, which are available on block-bookings. These generally apply on 10 hours or more.
How many driving lessons will I need to take?
The number of lessons required varies from student to student and is dependent on many factors, such as age, availability and learning style. Your instructor will, however, monitor your progress and keep you fully informed.
According to the DVSA, those who pass their driving test have had, on average, about 47 hours of driving lessons plus 20 hours of private practice. Our pupils generally require far fewer than that.
Do Left2Leon offer intensive driving courses?
Yes, we do offer intensive driving courses. These can be anything from one week upwards. Undertaking an intensive course will depend on several factors, such as previous experience and whether you have passed your theory test. If you want to go ahead, we will arrange a two hour driving assessment and advise you of your best route to test.
Do I need to pass the Theory Test before I can start my driving lessons?
No. In fact it may be better to learn the theory whilst having practical lessons. You will, however, need to pass the theory test before applying for the practical test.
Where do I take my Theory Test?
There are several theory test centres across the UK. Your driving instructor will be able to advise you of your nearest centre.
What type of car will I be learning in?
Ford Focus 1ltr Ecoboost MHEV Titanium which comes with dual controls and reversing camera for your peace of mind and safety.
How do I pay?
You can pay the instructor in the car at your driving lesson by cash or card (including contactless). If you would prefer to pay by Bank Transfer let us know and we will send you the Bank details. All payments should be made before the lesson starts.

"5 stars are not enough! Leon is an absolutely fantastic instructor who I cannot recommend highly enough! Really easy to get on with, I am someone who is quite anxious by nature and have only ever felt calm during all of my lessons with Leon. Thank you so much for all of your help and for making lessons enjoyable, and for putting up with me talking to myself for hours at a time! Thanks again Leon - highly recommended."

"Well what can I say in 40 characters to review Leon. He is an awesome dude. Brilliant instructor and could pass for a councillor the way he had to sit there and listen to me drone on about life. Couldn't recommend a better man to teach you how to drive. So thank you so much left to Leon."
